George Romero Writing Story for Anthology Novel Horror of the Living Dead

" The landscape of the horror genre was forever changed when George A. Romero unleashed Night of the Living Dead back in 1968, and the father of the modern zombie has spent much of his career telling tales of the undead. What’s next for Romero? You’re going to love the news we have for you today.

Over on his Facebook page, NY Times bestselling author Jonathan Maberry announced that he’s teaming with George Romero for a novel that’s tentatively titled Horror of the Living Dead, and it’s described as an anthology of entirely original stories all set in the 48 hours surrounding Night of the Living Dead.

Horror of the Living Dead will feature a story written by Romero himself, as well as one penned by Night of the Living Dead‘s co-writer, John Russo. Other writers attached to the project include Brad Thor, Brian Keene, Chuck Wendig, David Wellington, Issac Marion, Jay Bonansinga, Joe Lansdale, Joe McKinney, Keith R.A. DeCandido, Mike Carey, Mira Grant, Neal Shusterman & Brandon Shusterman, and Sanda Brown & Ryan Brown.

The anthology will be published by Griffin, and Maberry says we can expect it in early 2017. "
