As not long ago i got a new PC, i decided to upgrade From WinXP to Win7, and as i like to do things fast, i would have never staid to copy Core files manually from place to place. So i made this patch that makes things a lot easier.

All you have to do is to install the Patch to the LOTD Directory, for example, D:\LOTD, and Run the Game and Editor From the new Shortcuts that it add's on Desktop. Delete the old shortcut(s) of the game you have on desktop.

Requirements:
  • LOTD, and the 1.1 Patch
  • Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10
How to use:
  • Download the installer.
  • Open the downloaded patch file.
  • Select the Path to your game folder, for example D:\LOTD.
  • Click Extract.
  • You are Done ! Now you have two new icons on your Desktop, LOTD Game and LOTD Editor.
    From now on, use only this two icons to start your game/editor. Delete your previous lotd desktop shortcut(s).
Known issues/errors:
  • The Core files sometime dont have the required permissions to be be modified by the patch/cmd, so... To be sure, just delete the two Core files before or after you install the patch.

Unrealed Patch for Vista10-V3.exe
Second Version (12 May 2015) :
Unrealed Patch for Vista7-V2.exe
First Version (30 Nov 2011) :

@DarthTemplar312:
The Title says clear that it is for Windows 7 only.
When you finally decide to Upgrade to a modern operating system, and start mapping for LOTD. You know where to come.

@Damocles:
I am happy you like it. I didnt like to replace XP with 7, but as this PC had 4 GB of RAM and XP sees only 3GB, i said i'd finally get updated with the latest software. I am pretty happy with Windows 7. It doesn't seem to brake like XP did. So its more stable and better from some views. I dont know if i would go back for XP.

If the patch gets popular, maybe i will make a new version if needed.

Yeah.. I used to have XP, and liked it much. But Windows 7 is better imo. The only things I don't like about it are the carry-overs from Vista (crap). Things like the User Account Control issues and 'run as administrator' garbage. Overall tho.. I'll stick with it.

I do not know about the Account Control issue, but i dont have the run as administrator thingy in my Version. :)
I just open them as they are, no need for that admin stuff.
